Kenyan Doctor Moses Njue faces accusations of Stealing the heart from a corpse. The former Chief government Pathologist, alongside his son, have been taken to court due to issues of stealing body organs from the deceased.
On June 25, 2015, the late Timothy Mwandi Muumbo’s heart was taken away secretly during a postmortem. The deceased was in the hands of the pathologist Njue who was conducting the postmortem when the heart went missing, making him a prime suspect for theft.
It is not the first time this Kenyan Doctor Njue has been accused of body parts theft. Hardly a week has passed after another case emerged that had taken body Parts of another corpse in Meru during operation at Meru’s Consolata Mission Hospital. The heart and kidneys of the victim were discovered missing after the body was exhumed.
On three accounts Pathologist Njue has been charged with stealing body parts. He has denied all the accusations in the three reports. In another case he was accused of taking away body organs from a morgue, the mortuary attendant John Gathenya said that he had been asked to carry away the body organ from the autopsy room.
The case of Timothy Mwandi Muumba was illegal as the pathologist is accused of stealing the heart of the deceased and destroyed the evidence despite it been needed as medical evidence in judicial proceedings.

On Tuesday the accused who was to appear in Nairobi Court asked the court to postpone the hearing at a later date. The two accused people have a son to father relationship.
